Surfing at St Davids, Pembrokeshire

Whitesands Bay just a couple of miles from Rhos y Cribed, is an easily accessible surfing spot that provides sizeable waves for all surfing fans.

A popular spot for surfers, the beach holds fairly large waves – occasionally up to ten feet in height, with the surf largely dependent on the angle of the swell.  The bay shrinks as the tide pushes in, so it’s best to surf here from mid through to high tide.

The take off known locally as ‘the elevator’ is found at the north end of the headland but you’ll find various peaks along the beach to surf at different stages of the tide.
